Clasie and Janmaat make full Dutch squad for the first time

Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal has named Jordy Clasie, Daryl Janmaat, Bruno Martins Indi and Joris Mathijsen in his full squad for next week’s World Cup ties against Turkey and Hungary. Feyenoord and PSV both supply four players to the squad, which is more than any other club. It is the first time that either Clasie or Janmaat has been named in a final match squad. Unlike his teammates, Janmaat was not in the provisional squad.

Van Gaal named the 23-man roster – which also includes former Feyenoorders Dirk Kuijt, Robin van Persie, Ron Vlaar and Leory Fer – on Friday. The squad will meet up for the first time in Noordwijk on Monday 3 September.

The Dutch meet Turkey at the Amsterdam Arena on 7 September before travelling to Budapest to lock horns with Hungary at the Ferenc Puskás Stadium four days later. Both games kick off at 2030 CET.
