LEO BEENHAKKER RETURNS TO FEYENOORD

Leo Beenhakker has rejoined Feyenoord. The 66-year-old Rotterdammer has accepted the role of technical consultant at least until the end of the season. Beenhakker will work for Feyenoord without remuneration and will continue to work as head coach of the Poland national side.

It is the fourth time that Leo Beenhakker has been involved with Feyenoord. The one time youth coach (1976-1978) was head coach in 1997-2000 and returned as caretaker in 2007. Beenhakker was the last coach to guide the club to the Dutch title (1999), just one trophy in his long and distinguished career. Beenhakker won three Spanish titles with Real Madrid and two Dutch championships with Ajax. Beenhakker has also worked at Real Zaragoza, the Netherlands national side, Grasshoppers, Saudi-Arabia, Clube América, Chivas, Vitesse and Trinidad and Tobago. ‘Don Leo’ became head coach of Poland in 2006, guiding them to Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
