FEYENOORD AND KARIM SAIDI PART WAYS

Feyenoord and Karim Saidi have agreed to dissolve the Tunisian defender’s contract with immediate effect. The player’s deal ran until the summer of 2009. Karim Saidi arrived at Feyenoord in 2004. After an impressive rookie season the international lost form and lost his place in the team. Saidi was loaned to Italian side Lecce for six months in 2006 and then to Turkish club Sivasspor in 2008. The agreement to dissolve the contract means that Saidi, who made 59 official appearances for Feyenoord, is now free to look for a new employer.

‘This is the best solution for all parties,’ said a relieved Karim Saidi Monday evening. ‘It’s a pity I couldn’t find a club earlier so that Feyenoord could make some money out of it, but that’s just how it went. I had a great first year here and I think it’s a pity how things went after that. But that’s football. I wish everyone at Feyenoord all the best anyway.’
