Bert van Marwijk bade farewell as Feyenoord coach for the second time Wednesday evening, as amateur outfit ASWH were given the runaround. Jordao Pattinama, Danny Buijs, André Bahia, Tininho and Denny Landzaat all got on the score sheet. Landzaat, who recently learned he was not in the Dutch Euro 2008 squad, played the whole game. Andwelé Slory and Serginho Greene did not play at Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. They are on tour with the Suriname representative team.
Feyenoord had little difficulty with ASWH in the early stages. The Rotterdammers took firm control from the first minute and appeared to be in the mood to finish up the season in style. The early storm produced three goals in a quarter of an hour.
The game was seven minutes old when skipper for the day Michael Mols played the ball through to Anes Ribeiro. He was initially blocked by the keeper, but was eventually able to get the ball into the box, where Jordao Pattinama stormed in to head into the empty net.
Less than five minutes later Feyenoord had doubled their lead. Tininho crossed from the right, placing the ball right in front of Danny Buijs, who nodded in.
Buijs had a big chance to extend the lead in the later stages of the first half. The defender got his knee to the ball a couple of metres from the goal-line, but a defender managed to scramble it clear.
In the meantime, the Rotterdammers were not posing much of a threat. There were a couple of long-distant efforts, but both Nicky Hofs and Denny Landzaat were unable to keep their shots down. On the stroke of half-time ASWH had a great chance to pull a goal back, but keeper Darley saved Sjoerd van der Waal’s drive.
It fired the hosts up to make a real game of it after the break. Feyenoord were looking a little jaded, which led to spurned opportunities for Pattinama, who put the ball in the side-netting, and Hofs, who headed against the post.
Within a minute later, the home side had their goal. Some poor defending from the visitors let in Ferry van Lare, who was initially thwarted by the keeper before netting with a hard shot.
For ten minutes ASWH were within striking distance, but on 74 André Bahia headed home a hard and low Tininho free kick from the right flank to ease Feyenoord two goals ahead again.
In the final ten minutes Tininho and Landzaat both scored to extend Feyenoord’s lead. Tininho’s was a low, hard shot that the home keeper had no chance with. Two minutes later, Pattinama was decked in the box and Landzaat stroked in the penalty.
