FEYENOORD CAPTURE DENNY LANDZAAT

Feyenoord have signed Denny Landzaat from Wigan Athletic with immediate effect. The experienced midfielder – capped 36 times by Holland – is set to pen a two-and-a-half-year deal. ‘We are delighted to add another player of this caliber to our squad,’ says Peter Bosz. ‘For us, Denny is the type of player this team needs at the moment.’ The two clubs reached a deal Thursday night and the player underwent a medical Friday morning.

Denny Landzaat (31) is a technically gifted midfielder with 36 caps to his name and over 350 competitive appearances at the highest level. He made his debut at Ajax in 1995/1996, but only really matured after moving away from Amsterdam. His career has taken him to MVV (102 appearances, 10 goals, 3 seasons), Willem II (139 appearances, 38 goals, 5 seasons) and AZ (79 appearances, 21 goals, 3 seasons). Landzaat has been a first-team regular at Premier League club Wigan Athletic for the past 18 months.

Denny Landzaat was officially presented to the press at 11 am, immediately hooking up with Bert van Marwijk and the rest of the squad for training. He will wear jersey number 19 at Feyenoord.
