HOFLAND READY FOR AJAX

Kevin Hofland is available for selection ahead of Sunday’s home match against Ajax. The defender has been laid low by stomach flu recently, which forced him to miss the cup win against FC Groningen and last weekend’s Eredivisie victory against De Graafschap. But Hofland declared himself fit on Thursday, when he rejoined the rest of the squad for training after working out alone the previous day.

Jacob Lensky also joined squad training Thursday, but dropped out to work alone fairly quickly. The Canadian has made a full recovery from a groin injury, which he picked up in a reserve game, just after recovering from an ankle injury. ‘I hope to rejoin squad training completely next week,’ says the midfielder, who has been training alone these past few weeks. ‘The strange thing about this injury is that it’s never really been painful. I only felt it when I kicked the ball with my instep.’ Lensky hopes to rejoin the squad via the reserves in the not too distant future.
