CHUN-SOO LEE JETS INTO HOLLAND

Chun-Soo Lee arrived at Schiphol airport around 19:30 Saturday evening, together with his two agents. Players’ liaison Jan Mastenbroek was there to meet the South Korean. Lee will be in the stands at the Philips Stadium to watch his new club for the first time Sunday, when Feyenoord take on PSV in the Eredivisie.

The striker is set to be officially unveiled at a news conference coming Monday and he will be available for selection in Wednesday’s Dutch cup second round tie against FC Utrecht. Lee signed for the club three weeks ago, but the formalities around the player’s switch delayed his arrival in the Netherlands. The player was forced to wait for permission from South Korea’s foreign ministry before being allowed to leave the country, in connection with the republic’s national service rules. That has now come through, as has Chun-Soo Lee’s work permit. The player was finally able to collect his provisional residence permit from the Dutch embassy in Seoul a few days ago.
