BERT VAN MARWIJK NAMED NEW FEYENOORD COACH

Feyenoord have appointed Bert van Marwijk as the club’s new head coach. The 55-year-old arrives on a two-year contract. Feyenoord and Van Marwijk initiated talks a fortnight ago and the positive vibes that pervaded those initial discussions have proven to be right. Van Marwijk will be officially presented at De Kuip at 1 pm Monday.

Van Marwijk starts his second spell as head coach at De Kuip on Saturday 7 July. The Dutchman first led the club in 2000-2004, during which time he guided Feyenoord to a UEFA Cup triumph in 2002. It makes Van Marwijk the longest-serving head coach in the club’s long history.
