SLORY CELEBRATES DUTCH DEBUT WITH A WIN

Andwelé Slory will arrive at the first day of training on 7 July as an international player after making his bow in the national side’s victory in South Korea Saturday. The Netherlands won the friendly in Seoul 2-0 in front of 64,000 spectators, thanks to a brace from Rafael van der Vaart. Slory played a big part in the opener, as it was he who was fouled in the box leading to the award of a penalty. Slory left the stage on 54 minutes with a minor hand injury, and was replaced by former Feyenoord favourite Dirk Kuyt.

Feyenoord’s Romeo Castelen was brought on eight minutes later and he set up Orange’s second strike, while another couple of players with Feyenoord connections – Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Chong-Gug Song – completed the Rotterdam connection.
