DAVIDS, ALTHEER & OUTWARD BOUND

Lorenzo Davids is set to leave De Kuip immediately after the midfielder agreed terms with Nijmegen outfit NEC. Two more players heading to pastures new are Jeffrey Altheer and Maikel Aerts, both of whom have secured loan deals, with Excelsior and Willem II respectively. Altheer’s contract runs until the end of the season, although Feyenoord do have an option to extend the young defender’s deal. Christian Gyan meanwhile will finish out the season at Excelsior, where he has played since the summer. The Ghanaian travelled to Sandefjord in Norway last week for a trial, but failed to impress the Tippeligaen club.

Davids played his last game in a Feyenoord shirt in a reserve game last Monday in front of NEC coach Mario Been. Reserve league leaders Heerenveen denied the player a happy ending, by beating Feyenoord by a goal to nil.
