CAS TO EXAMINE APPEAL THURSDAY OR FRIDAY NEXT WEEK

The appeal against the Feyenoord’s exclusion from this season’s Uefa Cup is set to get priority handling at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The Lausanne-based court has scheduled the appeal for handling on 8 or 9 February. CAS has also confirmed that it will issue an immediate ruling. That means that the club will finally know whether it is to meet Tottenham Hotspur in the next round of the competition by the end of next week. The first leg of that tie is scheduled for a week later.

Feyenoord filed an appeal against the Uefa’s punishment last Friday, after receiving the reasoning on which the decision was based.
