FEYENOORD TO APPEAL UEFA PUNISHMENT

Feyenoord is to appeal Uefa’s decision to exclude the club from this year’s Uefa Cup. The club took the decision after studying the reasoning in the Uefa Appeals Committee’s ruling. ‘Based on the facts, it is our opinion that we are not guilty as a club,’ said financial manager Onno Jacobs, repeating his statement of earlier in the week. ‘We would like to have the ruling of the Appeals Committee reviewed by a court, as we feel that this punishment has done an injustice to Feyenoord. Pending the appeal we will continue to prepare for the matches against Spurs, but we will also urge the Court of Arbitration for Sport to come to an early decision.’

Feyenoord will refrain from making any further comments during the appeal process. ‘It is now down to the judgement of CAS,’ said Onno Jacobs.
