NEW BOARDS AT DE KUIP SUNDAY

Spectators at Sunday’s Eredivisie match against RKC will be the first to see a brand-new electronic advertising board system at De Kuip. The system – which has already been rolled out with success at some of the most famous grounds in England and Spain – was installed at the stadium Tuesday in the presence of the club’s management, who admitted to being impressed.

Marketing Manager Chris Woerts and finance manager Onno Jacobs were stunned by the innovative system. ‘I like it a lot,’ said Woerts, who explained the reasons behind the move. ‘It offers many more possibilities in terms of exposure. It’s also non-intrusive, of high quality and we are following the developments in the top leagues where this type of board system has been used for a while now. This offers more options for sponsors, because the attention value is increased. And obviously the aim is for it to generate more income than the boards we’ve been working with up to now.’

Studies from England show that the attention value of LED boarding for neutral spectators is much higher than static and rotating vinyl boarding. The total length of the system is 204 metres. These systems typically have 48 LEDs from top to bottom, but the De Kuip system tops that with 56 LEDs, which produces a very high resolution.

The static boards will not disappear completely incidentally. Four sections will remain in the cornet up to the goal.
