ALFRED SCHREUDER BACK IN THE SQUAD

Alfred Schreuder returns to the Feyenoord squad for Feyenoord’s match against Sparta Saturday evening. The midfielder has been on the sidelines for more than a year – August 2005 to be precise – as a consequence of an obdurate Achilles problem. Schreuder has been rehabbing in Zeist during the past few months, joining the first team squad for occasional training. ‘He can do everything without a problem and he is available for selection,’ says Koeman, who will give the 34-year-old no more than ten to fifteen minutes against Feyenoord’s Rotterdam neighbours.

After two procedures and a succession of setbacks, Schreuder was troubled by his fistula during the summer and a subcutaneous swelling was surgically removed in June. That was followed by a bacterial infection, which dragged out the player’s rehab schedule.
