FRIENDS REUNITED AS GHALY EYES RETURN

One Spurs player delighted to be drawn against Feyenoord in Friday’s Uefa Cup draw is Hossam Ghaly. The Egyptian celebrated his 25th birthday with the news that he would have the chance to pit his wits against his former club. ‘I think it will be great to come back to Rotterdam, see my old teammates and play in front of the best fans in Holland again,’ admitted Ghaly in reaction to the draw.

Feyenoord was definitely the pick of the bunch for Hossam Ghaly. The Egyptian international has found his feet in London after a tough start and is now looking forward to being in the starting line-up against his former employer, although he doesn’t feel that he has anything to prove. ‘I only have good feelings about Feyenoord. I’m just so pleased that I will soon be playing again at De Kuip and in Rotterdam. I was very much at home in that city and I still have many friends there. And the fans have always supported me, so it will be really great to see them again.’

Ghaly feels that his current club start as favourites. ‘To be honest I do. We are in good form right now and the team is stable. Feyenoord has lost some quality with the departure of Kuyt and Kalou. Even so, they are still a good team. We will have to be completely focused if we are to beat Feyenoord.’
