RINUS ISRAEL RETURNS TO DE KUIP AS A SCOUT

The new edition of club newspaper Feyenoord Krant reports that Rinus Israel is set to return to the club. The one-time Feyenoord captain and coach will take up a scouting position, strengthening the current three-man team of Michel Beukers, Mika Lipponen and Kees van Wonderen. Israel is yet to put his signature to the contact, but that is expected to happen sooner rather than later. As a player, Israel lifted the European Cup in 1970 after Feyenoord beat Celtic in Milan’s San Siro stadium

Rinus Israel played for the Rotterdammers for nine years between 1966 and 1974, winning just about everything there was to win during his time at De Kuip: the European Cup, the World Club Championship, the UEFA Cup, the Dutch Cup, three national titles and a footballer of the year title.
