NATIONS HEARTBREAK FOR SAIDI

Tunisia will have to defend their African Cup of Nations title in Egypt without Karim Saidi. The Feyenoord player has contracted a hamstring injury in the preparations for the championships and it is considered serious enough to rule him out of any further participation. The defender will return to Rotterdam Tuesday to give the Feyenoord medics the opportunity to establish the severity of the problem. Saidi is the second Maassider to be obliged to forget the tournament. A groin strain has already forced Hossam Ghaly out of the host nation’s squad.

It all means that Feyenoord’s sole representative at the African Cup of Nations is Morocco’s Ali Boussaboun.
