FIBULA BREAK PUTS VINCKEN OUT FOR THREE MONTHS

Monday’s reserve game was an unhappy one for Tim Vincken: the player broke his fibula and is set for a hefty layoff. Vincken was taken to hospital immediately and went under the knife early Tuesday morning. The injury is not the first to befall the forward this season – his first as a first-team squad member. Vincken has already had to recover from two hamstring complaints and a shoulder problem, and has accordingly already lost a number of weeks to injury.

Vincken was the star man in the reserves 3-1 defeat of Vitesse reserves, although he spurned a number of opportunities to get his name on the scoresheet. It had looked like being a great day for the youngster, as he was also selected for the Dutch Under 21’s two-legged playoff against the Slovenians by coach Foppe de Haan. The broken leg puts him out of that one of course.
