Feyenoord made it three wins in a three matches with a win against FC Emmen on Sunday, leaving head coach Giovanni van Bron...
Feyenoord added to their professional roster Tuesday when Jerson Anes Ribeiro (17), Jordy Buijs (16) and Norichio Nieveld (16) all signed contracts. Each penned a three-year deal, with an optional two-year addition. The trio helped the B1 team claim a league and cup double this season. ‘They are still young, but we are forced to tie down your talents,’ explained Technical Director Mark Wotte. ‘They have potential qualities and with interest from professional Dutch or foreign clubs, we are now sure that they will not leave for free.’
Ribeiro and Buijs made a big impression a fortnight ago at the European Championship for under 17s, which was beamed across the continent. Biseswar was also a head-turner in the Dutch squad that made the final. ‘Buijs and Nieveld are two strong central defenders, whereas Anes Ribeiro is a technically gifted left-sided midfielder,’ according to Wotte.
Buijs has been at Feyenoord for a decade already, while Nieveld will be finishing his third year at the club and Anes Ribeiro his fourth season when Feyenoord take on Ajax in the Super Cup on 4 June.
