BANDALOVSKI GOES SOLO ON GRAN CANARIA

The Feyenoord squad stretched its legs on the Canary Islands in outstanding conditions Thursday. A smooth-as-glass pitch and an ambient temperature of 18 degrees Celsius welcomed Ruud Gullit and Co to Gran Canaria as an almost complete squad completed their first two training sessions of the trip. Only Romeo Castelen and new arrival Ivan Bandalovski trained on their own. Castelen owed his isolation to a back strain picked up during the week in Rotterdam, while Bandalovski has a groin twinge. The Bulgarian hopes to rejoin his new teammates later in the week.

Leonardo also hooked up with the bulk of the squad in the morning, but was restricted to some work in the gym after lunch. The Brazilian is continuing his long road to recovery after several months out through injury. The only really surprise at the camp was Patrick Mtiliga’s new shaved-head look.
