WORKING CLASS HERO SOMETHING TO BE FOR HOFS

Nicky Hofs rubberstamped his transfer to Feyenoord Monday by signing a three-year contact with the club that commences at the beginning of the 2005/6 season. The deal also gives the club the option of holding onto the Vitesse midfielder for a further two years. The 21-year-old recently met up with Ruud Gullit, and came out the other end feeling that Feyenoord was the right club for him. ‘Feyenoord is a working-class club and I’m a working class lad. That seems like a great combination to me,’ says Hofs.

The player is not worried that the deal will put him off his game for the rest of the season at Vitesse. ‘I want to say farewell to Vitesse in the best way and also show the people at Feyenoord what I’m worth. I’m happy with my transfer to Rotterdam, but I’ll only concentrate on Feyenoord when my work in Arnhem is done.’
