BETTER NEWS ON SHINJI’S ANKLE

Club doctor Robbart van Linschoten has confirmed that the news on Shinji Ono’s ankle could have been a lot worse than it is. The midfielder suffered contusions in Sunday’s defeat at home to FC Utrecht and was forced out of the match at halftime. Without the suspended Ghaly and with Song in midfield Feyenoord were unable to make any impression in the second half and ultimately lost the game three-nil. It is as yet unclear however whether Ono will make Saturday’s trip to RBC Roosendaal.

‘He has less pain and it’s going well, but it’s too early in the week to say whether he’ll make Saturday,’ explained Van Linschoten. ‘He’ll not train outside until Wednesday at the earliest and then we’ll see.’
