CASTELEN CRACKS FINGER BONE

Romeo Castelen cracked a bone in his finger at Friday training. As a result the striker was forced to leave De Kuip early to undergo a hospital examination. Mercifully, the defender won’t be sidelined by the injury, although his finger will be in a splint for the next three weeks. ‘It was a freak accident,’ explained Castelen upon his return from hospital. ‘Hossam Ghaly caught me unintentionally with his heel as he passed me. I immediately felt a huge shooting pain in my finger.’

‘It turns out that the bone is cracked. These things happen. The most important thing is that I haven’t had to miss a training session.’
