Ferne Snoyl has been told that he will not be part of the Feyenoord first team squad next season. The youngster has heard from Mark Wotte that his immediate future lies at Excelsior or another Eredivisie club. Despite obvious disappointment, Snoyl has expressed his intention to return to De Kuip in twelve months’ time. Alfred Schreuder and Jean Carlos Dondé have also been advised they can talk to other clubs, reports Feyenoord Krant.
‘Wotte explained how it would be next year,’ says Snoyl. ‘I would be fourth choice behind Van Haaren, Bosschaart and Mtiliga. I could have played for the reserves and waited for my chance, but I will not make progress in the reserves. And I won’t get anything out of sitting in the stands in the first team.
‘I am very disappointed, I assumed I would be part of it next year. And I looked forward to working with Gullit. I know for sure that I can play at this level. I played twelve games and I have yet to show what I can do. I can do a lot better.
‘I could have been put up for sale but I absolutely don’t want that. I have a contract until 2006, I’m not leaving until I have won a first team place at Feyenoord.’
