EARLY HOLIDAY FOR SONG

Chong-Gug Song has been given permission to bring forward his vacation plans, which means the South Korean will miss the club’s final two end-of-season warm-down matches against Bennekom and Spijkenisse. Feyenoord have confirmed that the wingback will be part of the squad that takes on SSV’65 Goes and FC Vaassen however. Song’s early holiday has been sanctioned by Feyenoord, due to the international’s umpteenth busy summer schedule, which starts when Korea go head-to-head with Turkey at the beginning of May.

That match precedes the summer’s main event for the Koreans, the Asian Cup, which kicks off at the end of July and runs till the middle of August. It all means that Chong-Gug will miss preseason at Feyenoord – not unimportant considering the arrival of a new coaching staff headed by Ruud Gullit. Indeed, all in all the player will barely have a week’s rest before the Eredivisie ball gets rolling again.
