AN ERA ENDS SUNDAY AT DE KUIP

Feyenoord Krant reports that Rotterdam fans will have the chance to say farewell to a host of departing staff when Feyenoord wraps up the Eredivisie season against FC Zwolle at De Kuip Sunday. The game is coach Bert van Marwijk’s last at the club – his assistant John Metgod is also leaving. On the playing side, veteran Kees van Wonderen retires, while other players exiting De Kuip are Robin van Persie, Mariano Bombarda, Gérard de Nooijer and Gill Swerts.

The outgoing staff will almost certainly be given a send-off directly after the match. The club is currently fleshing out the ceremony itself together with Feyenoord Supporters Association, although the celebrations are expected to centre on Van Marwijk, Metgod and Van Wonderen, who have represented the Maasiders for many years. Football fans with a free Sunday are advised that a limited number of tickets are still available.
