FEYENOORD SNAP UP EDWIN DE GRAAF

Feyenoord have secured the services of midfielder Edwin de Graaf, who is set to switch to De Kuip when his present contract with RBC runs out on 1 June 2004. The 23-year old youth international has signed a contract with the club that runs through to the summer of 2006. The agreement also gives the Rotterdammers an extra three-year option on the player. Graaf will be loaned by to RBC during the 2004-5 campaign.

‘Mark Wotte and Ruud Gullit think he is a talented midfielder,’ confirmed manager Jan D. Swart. ‘And Wotte has seen him up close as coach of the Netherlands youth team. De Graaf could choose from various Eredivisie clubs, but his own preference was for Feyenoord. And to be sure that he will mature in the Eredivisie, we’ve loaned him back to RBC immediately. There is a proviso that we can bring him to Rotterdam either halfway through the season or at the end of the season.’
