Fortis wants to increase awareness of its brand among the general public and has chosen to do so through one club: Feyenoord.
Feyenoord has won a series of major prizes with current sponsor Stad Rotterdam Verzekeringen and has made no secret of its desire to find a partner with international ambition and an international profile. That makes the Fortis/Feyenoord hook-up so seamless.
Feyenoord chairman Jorien van den Herik: ‘We are delighted to continue our relationship with Fortis, which has been ongoing for years, because it allows Stad Rotterdam Verzekeringen to also continue to be involved with our club. Fortis has the ambition to be a leading financial services provider in the Netherlands as it is in Belgium. Feyenoord will do its utmost to support Fortis in that ambition.’

The agreement brings to an end a thirteen period in which Stad Rotterdam Verzekeringen was main sponsor of Feyenoord. In that period the insurance company has realised its name awareness objectives and more.
