Feyenoord appears to be ready for the Eredivisie restart, after Bert van Marwijk’s team won the final warm-up against Delta Sport at a canter. In the end the Rotterdammers racked up fourteen strikes against the amateurs, conceding one, to record a fourth successive friendly win. Best among the scorers was Danko Lazovic, who knocked in four goals. Feyenoord now looks to Sunday and the Eredivisie match with FC Utrecht.

The amateurs of Vlaardingen started the match quite brightly and although Feyenoord took the lead through Smolarek, after a Van Persie slalom through the home team’s defence, Delta Sport were back on level terms within a minute after sloppy rearguard work. But when Lazovic scored Feyenoord’s second after a quarter of an hour the tide turned in the Eredivisie team’s favour. The Serb had a fine game, spraying passes and exploring every inch of the pitch. The third goal was his too, heading in an Ebi Smolarek cross and he also had a hand in Schreuder’s fourth. Van Persie rattled in a fifth in injury time. Feyenoord powered through the second period, scoring nine goals in the process. Lazovic’s performance was rivalled by Smolarek, who knocked in two second half strikes. The centre of the home defence lost its shape and Feyenoord waltzed through time after time. Substitute Dirk Kuyt finished off the show with three late goals.
