SEASON OVER FOR LEO; OPERATION LOOMS

Leonardo will miss the rest of the season after tearing his knee ligaments in Sunday’s win at Volendam. The Brazilian had only just returned to the squad after incessant injury problems, and Sunday’s Eredivisie match was his first start of the year, but he now faces another lengthy layoff. Club doctor Van Linschoten expects the player to be out for nine to twelve months. The rest of the season will now be devoted to Leonardo’s rehab.

‘Leonardo first has to recover from the torn ligaments. We’ll see in a month whether an operation is needed. At the moment we do expect that,’ explained Van Lindschoten.
