BOSVELT FLYPAST THANKS ALL SUPPORTERS

A very special thank-you was dedicated to the fans who inundated the Kuip Wednesday for Feyenoord’s traditional Open Day. Suddenly a small plane appeared above the stadium, trailing a message from Paul Bosvelt, imparting the ex-Kuip captain’s gratitude for six fantastic years in Rotterdam. ‘I wanted to thank the supporters for their support and what better occasion is there to do that than the Open Day?’ explained Bosvelt speaking from England.

Bosvelt’s personal message was greeted with loud cheers and chanting, which certainly delighted the player when we told him. ‘I don’t yet know if or when I’ll have the opportunity to say a personal farewell to the supporters and I wanted them to know how grateful I was for the fantastic support I’ve had during six great years. At first I didn’t know how to do it, but I suddenly had the idea of hiring a plane during Open Day. It’s visible to everyone who loves Feyenoord. I’m glad it went down well, but I hope that I’m soon able to say farewell in person.’
