ONO RETURNS TO JAPAN

Shinji Ono left Holland for his homeland Wednesday to get a second opinion on his ankle. After consultations with the club’s medical staff the decision was taken to allow the Japanese international to fly out to the Far East to have his injury looked at by a local surgeon. Ono has been troubled by the injury for months already. If surgery is considered necessary, it will be carried out immediately.

The Dutch doctors recommended rest for the injury, but six weeks down the line the ankle is still giving the player discomfort.
