CARLO HANGS UP HIS GLOVES

Feyenoord keeper Carlo l’Ami has confirmed that he’ll end his career when this season comes to a close, due to a niggling shoulder injury picked up in a clash at Heereveen. ‘Of course it’s a pity,’ admits the thirty-seven year old. ‘I would have liked to decide for myself when I stopped. I would have played one more year. But you have to be realistic. The shoulder is no longer suited to professional football.’

L’Ami will take up in a position on the training staff, ‘but what and where still has to be discussed.’ Carlo l’Ami played three times for Feyenoord in his two-years at the club. And over 350 competitive games for Excelsior, PSV, SVV, SVV/Dordrecht, SC Heracles, Sparta, SC Heerenveen, Cambuur Leeuwarden, Telstar, Excelsior again and Feyenoord.
