RZASA SHEDDING NO TEARS FOR BONIEK

Tomasz Rzasa is 'not entirely unhappy’ to hear news of the resignation of Polish national coach Zbigniew Boniek. The Pole announced his departure after only five months at the helm. ‘Boniek was a great footballer, but as national coach things didn’t go as people had hoped,’ Rzasa told Feyenoord’s official website. ‘Hopefully there’ll be a better atmosphere in the team under a new coach and I obviously hope I can claim my place back.’

The Poles have had a string of poor results since tumbling out of the World Cup at the first stage, with two wins in five, against the less than fearsome San Marino and New Zeeland. Boniek’s assistant Stefan Majewski takes over his ex-boss’s duties for the time being.
