TOMASZ RZASA HAPPY FOR THE FANS

The infectious smile was back on the face of Feyenoord’s Polish international Tomasz Rzasa Monday; indeed most of his teammates were in high spirits after getting one over on their title rivals. It was an important victory for the players, but for Rzasa the win should be dedicated to the fans, who continue to support the club through thick and thin. ‘I’m more relieved for the supporters. We’ve been able to cheer them up again.’

Rzasa has taken more from the win than the three points. ‘We are playing better and better and we’ve shown that we’re still on track for the title.’ The Pole had a very good game himself of course, minimising the threat of speedy Dane Dennis Rommedahl. ‘It’s a great feeling when you do things well,’ the defender admitted. ‘Whether I always play well against Rommedahl? Maybe its just noticed more, because we played PSV five times last year. He was really in top form at the time and I did well. And if you perform well in such a big game against such a string direct opponent, then everyone sees that immediately.’ The trick is to continue the upward curve in Saturday’s game at RKC Waalwijk. Rzasa for one is forewarned about that particular team’s qualities. ‘We have to forget about PSV now. It’ll be very hard at RKC. This is my fourth year with Feyenoord and in all that time I only won last year in Waalwijk.’
