FEYENOORD INVITES SOUTH KOREAN PRESIDENT

South Korean President, Kim Dae-Jung, has been invited by Feyenoord Chairman Jorien van den Herik to attend the home game on Saturday evening against De Graafschap. The President is visiting the Netherlands for 2 days. Reason for the invitation is the fact that following match obligations Feyenoord was unable cooperate in a lunch with the South Korean President and Song on Saturday afternoon in Amsterdam.

“We would have liked Song to have been able to have lunch with his President,” Jorien van den Herik said. “But I have asked the South Korean Ambassador to the Netherlands for his understanding of our point of view. Despite the fact that we were assured that it would be a short lunch and that Song would have been driven back to Rotterdam immediately, it simply doesn’t fit in our match preparation. And it is not good practice to make exceptions. That is why I have invited the President and the Ambassador to come and watch the match in the evening, although I have not promised that Song will be playing.”
