SONG’S SCRIBBLE HOT PROPERTY IN HOMELAND

A signing session at one of South Korea’s biggest booksellers ended in chaos when more than 1500 fans stormed the store in the hunt for Chong-gug Song’s signature. The interest in the newest addition to the Feyenoord squad was so great that law enforcement officers had to end the player’s appearance after only 20 minutes. Police cited safety issues as the reason for pulling the plug. The session has been rescheduled for next week.

Chong-gug Song, one of the heroes of Korea’s World Cup, attracted so many fans on the occasion of the presentation of his biography that the Koran police were unable to control the crowds. When 1500 fans rushed to acquire the man’s autograph and photo the police were forced to move in to quell the stampede. Fans began to camp outside the venue a full day in advance and within minutes of the store’s opening 300 of them had preordered the book to ensure they would not be disappointed.
