TOMASZ GIVEN 45 MINUTES BY ENGEL

Tomasz Rzasa’s Poland went down to Romania in Bydgoszcz Wednesday night, their second home defeat in succession after the loss to Japan. The Romanians eventually ran out 2-1 winners. Polish coach Jerzy Engel brought on Rzasa at halftime, when his side were already two goals down. The Poles did grab a consolation four minutes before the end through Tomasz Hajto, but will be disappointed with the result. Ebi Smolarek did not travel due to his knee injury.
