TOMASZ: PLAY YOUR OWN GAME

It’s a big ask but left back Tomasz Rzasa knows that Feyenoord have to do their own thing Thursday in Milan. ‘The pitch at the San Siro will play an important role. Hopefully it’s not too bad, so we can play our own game, with a lot of possession, stroking the ball around. We played like that two years ago against Lazio too. Italians soon get irritated, which means they are unable to play there own game. And that gives us opportunities.’

The Milanese boast a slew of top-class internationals and currently top the Italian league, but Tomasz maintains that it’s maybe not the time to worry too much about the other side. The final is close by and Rzasa for one is focused. ‘I still believe in it, although Inter are obviously enormously strong. Inter are favourites without a doubt. All players at Inter are very talented. ‘Myself I’ll probably play opposite Seedorf or Conceiçao tomorrow. I played opposite Conceiçao when we played Lazio at home a couple of seasons ago. He was a dangerous, quick player with a good cross. But I’d still prefer to play opposite him than opposite Seedorf, who I once faced with Poland. We lost 3-1, so I don’t have such happy memories of Seedorf. But every game is different.’
