JOHN ERIKSEN PASSES AWAY

Feyenoord was sad to hear of the death of one of its former players John Eriksen last Wednesday in Svendborg, Denmark. The onetime striker for the Rotterdammers, Roda JC and Swiss outfit Servette had been suffering from Alzheimer’s for some time. The Dane wore the red and white of Feyenoord in the 1985/1986 season, scoring 22 goals in only 31 games, a haul that has not been equalled since in the Kuip.

A well-travelled Eriksen also played for Odense BK, Mulhouse and FC Luzern, as well as representing his country 17 times, scoring six goals. John Eriksen was 44 years old.
