Feyenoord have been drawn against Glasgow Rangers in the fourth round of the UEFA Cup. The first leg is in Scotland on 21 February with the return a week later in the Kuip. Two eagerly anticipated meetings, for the Rangers squad includes five Dutchmen: Arthur Numan, Michael Mols, Ronald de Boer, Fernando Ricksen and Bert Konterman, a former Rotterdam favorite who played a crucial role in Feyenoord¹s 1999 championship winning side.

Rangers Dutch contingent also includes Dick Advocaat, no longer first team coach, but still active at Ibrox. After a succession of Scottish titles the Gers find themselves playing second fiddle to Glasgow rivals Celtic, ex-club of Feyenoord striker Pierre van Hooijdonk. In Europe too, Rangers have failed to make any impression on the Champions League tournament down the years. Nevertheless, the men from Glasgow boast a strong squad, including Tore-Andre Flo, Claudio Caniggia and ex-Ajax striker Shota Arveladze. Should the Rotterdammers win the tie, they will take on the winners of the PSV-Leeds United match.
