ELMANDER AND YOUNG SWEDEN OUT FOR EC

Just like the Dutch U21 team, Sweden, with Feyenoord’s Johan Elmander, will not compete in the EC 2002. In Ghent young Sweden lost its away game against young Belgium 2-0. At home Sweden won its first match by 3-2. Elmander only played the second half of the game and by that time saw his team already behind 2-0 by goals of De Wilde (8’) and Van Dooren (21’). Feyenoord’s Pieter Collen, injured for this game, had his small party on the stands.
