Karim El Ahmadi has agreed a twelve-month contract extension with Feyenoord that will keep him at De Kuip until mid-2019. The 32-year-old midfielder signed his new deal on Friday afternoon.
It is the second time in two seasons that El Ahmadi has agreed a one-year extension to his contract. In May last year the Morocco international prolonged his stay in Rotterdam South until the summer of 2018.
El Ahmadi is currently in his seventh season at Feyenoord. He left the club after an initial four-year stint in 2012, signing for Aston Villa, but returned two years later. Last season El Ahmadi helped Feyenoord win the KNVB Cup, his first trophy with the club.
This term the vice-captain has racked up 20 appearances in the Eredivisie, scoring five goals. That makes it the most productive season of his career with ten matches still to play.
