Head coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst welcomed Ridgeciano Haps back to the training pitch on Friday, two days before PSV come to De Kuip. The left back trained with the rest of the squad for the first time since being forced off against Vitesse on Sunday 11 February with an eye injury.
With the league leaders due in town on Sunday, the Feyenoord squad is virtually complete, but for long-term injured pair Jeremiah St. Juste and Sam Larsson. ‘We did have a couple of boys with minor complaints,’ said Van Bronckhorst at the Friday press conference. ‘I am keeping that in mind with the matches against PSV and Willem II coming up in quick succession. If players are not fully fit, I’m not taking any chances.’
Nicolai Jørgensen and Sofyan Amrabat both left training early on Wednesday, while Justin Bijlow was injured in Feyenoord Under 19’s UEFA Youth League match on the same day. ‘They are all doing okay now, they trained with us today,’ said Van Bronkhorst. ‘Justin got a knock to the ribs and it’s still painful, but he’s hard as nails so he’ll be there on Sunday.’
