Tonny Vilhena has added an additional two years to his De Kuip stay. The midfielder signed a new contract at the stadium on Wednesday afternoon, committing to the club until at least mid-2020.
The 22-year-old, a product of Feyenoord Academy, has been a regular in coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side this season. He has made 28 appearances, notching up 4 goals in Feyenoord’s tilt for the title. Since his debut in January 2012, Vilhena has played more than 140 times for the first team. Last season he won a KNVB Cup winner’s medal with the club. He has three Dutch caps.
Technical director Martin van Geel expressed his satisfaction at pinning down Vilhena for an additional 24 months after pleasant talks. ‘Tony is a very important player in our squad, who has come through our own academy to become an international. We are delighted that he has extended his stay at Feyenoord and showed his confidence in the club’s future.’
