Feyenoord recorded a 4-3 win at PEC Zwolle on match day 28 in the Eredivisie on Sunday. No Eredivisie fixtures are schedule...
Feyenoord and Turkish club Besiktas JK from Istanbul play each other at De Kuip on Wednesday evening. The hope is that the two-legged tie will be the start of a fantastic European season for Feyenoord with a place in the group stage of a European competition for the first time since 2008.
Feyenoord and Besiktas JK are both supported by fanatical, loyal fans. In spite of this positive support, both groups of fans have a negative record at UEFA. Feyenoord hopes that there are no problems whatsoever before, during and after the home match against Besiktas on Wednesday. No one benefits from a hefty fine of other punishment from UEFA.
With that in mind, Feyenoord urgently appeals to all fans not to bring any flares, smoke canisters or any other type of firework to the stadium. Fans are advised that lighting fireworks is prohibited and can put other supporters’ lives at risk. Banners with anti-UEFA or FIFA messages, offensive or racist chants and throwing objects towards the field of play are also prohibited.
Feyenoord employs a strict stadium access policy for this match. Besiktas JK supporters with tickets for sections reserved for Feyenoord supporters will not be allowed to enter the stadium and if they are already inside they will be ejected. (This does not apply to the business seats.)
We hope to experience a fabulous game of football in a fantastic atmosphere at De Kuip on Wednesday. Show your love of Feyenoord by supporting your club in a sporting manner as only the Feyenoord Legion can!
