‘The confidence is back,’ said a satisfied Feyenoord head coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst on Friday afternoon, two days ...
Brad Jones has received an invitation to join the Australia squad later this month. The 35-year-old Feyenoord keeper has been named in national coach Bert van Marwijk’s squad for the World Cup warm-up matches against Norway (Oslo, Friday 23 March) and Colombia (London, Tuesday 27 March).
It is the first international call-up Jones has received in four years. The goalkeeper last represented his homeland against Ecuador in March 2014. All told, Jones has been capped four times by the Socceroos, making his debut back in 2007.
Jones returns to the Australia fold three months before his nation’s opening Russia 2018 fixture against France in Kazan on 16 June. Van Marwijk’s men will also take on Denmark and Peru in 2018 FIFA World Cup Group C.
