Van Bronckhorst wants to grow at Feyenoord

Giovanni van Bronckhorst put his signature to a new contract with Feyenoord on Tuesday. The 39-year-old signed a one-year deal in the presence of his wife and agent in one of the Business Units at De Kuip, ensuring the Feyenoord legend, who played 106 times for the Dutch national team, remains on the technical staff at the club. Van Bronckhorst was clearly delighted to extend his stay at De Kuip and says he’s looking forward to a new season as assistant coach. ‘My work is not yet done at Feyenoord.’

‘I reached agreement with the club a few weeks ago, but it’s still a great feeling to put my signature to it,’ said Van Bronckhorst, who will work under Fred Rutten next season after three years under Ronald Koeman.  ‘I’ve already spoken with Fred a number of times and those discussions were very positive. He’s a very experienced coach and he can’t wait to get to work here. His arrival is a breath of fresh air, and he’ll bring new ideas and training methods and other insights on the coaching side of things. That will definitely help my development as a coach and the team’s development. My work at Feyenoord is not yet done; I want to grow at this club. So I’m looking forward to working together next season.’
