Bryan Linssen signs for Feyenoord until 2023

Feyenoord have added striker Bryan Linssen to their squad. The 29-year-old arrives at De Kuip on a free transfer from Vitesse. He has signed a three-year deal.

Linssen made his professional debut in 2008-2009 for Fortuna Sittard, the club where he spent much of his youth. He went on to play for MVV, VVV-Venlo, Heracles Almelo and FC Groningen, before signing for Vitesse in 2017.

Linssen scored 28 goals in 63 appearances in his first two Eredivisie seasons at the Arnhem club, an average of almost a goal every other match. He continued his fine form in front of goal last season, netting 14 times in 26 appearances before coronavirus hit and the Eredivisie was abandoned. That put him just one goal behind Steven Berghuis in the league scoring charts.

‘It’s no secret that we’ve long been an admirer of Bryan’s,’ says Feyenoord’s technical director Frank Arnesen. ‘His way of playing, his drive and his presence are a good fit with Feyenoord. Scoring goals is very important in football and with these statistics Bryan shows that he is effective and that means he can be very valuable for Feyenoord. So it’s great that we have reached agreement. This is a big step forward for both him and us.’
