Danish Football Federation (DBU) visit Feyenoord Academy
In two very intense days the students were introduced to the way of thinking at the Feyenoord Academy and challenged to change their way of thinking about football by Melvin Boel, international development coach at Feyenoord. During Q&A-sessions with Damien Hertog, head of the academy, and academy coaches Jan Gösgens and Jeffrey Oost, no questions remained unanswered.
Per Andersen, coach educator at the DBU and head of the delegation to Feyenoord, was very satisfied with the experience. ‘For us this was the third time to come to the Feyenoord Academy and once again it was an excellent visit. The coaches take a lot of very useful information back with them to Denmark. The Feyenoord instructors managed to challenge the students and give them a lot of food for thought. We’d definitely recommend a Feyenoord Academy visit to any coach who wants to improve their skills!’
The group included professional players Martin Jørgensen (with more than 100 caps for Denmark and over 300 matches in Serie A), Martin Retov (6 caps for Denmark and more than 300 matches in Danish Superliga) and Henrik Hansen (over 250 matches in Danish Superliga).
